Empowering the women of Mangadu

Namaste, vanakkam, well, "hello" in all the languages of this beautiful country. My name is Daniel and I come from Italy, but I'm currently living in India volunteering for the NGO "WEEDS" in Mangadu, a village area just out of Chennai. As the usual white guy ("gora" in Hindi, "vellakaara" in Tamil) who volunteers abroad, I sincerely hope to make a change in the society that hosts me. Which is why I'm starting a fundraiser for this NGO. As we deal with the empowerment of local women, the money gathered will be spent in a series of projects which include raising awareness on gender inequality and harassment, self-defense courses, tailoring courses, English classes,  leadership training for elected women representatives, and much more. I really hope you'll be willing to help us! :)
