Help Restore Baby Reemi's Vision

Baby Reemi born on 2nd Feb 2019 at Nagpur with a congenital condition. Her right eye is anopthalmic (completely blind) whereas left eye has highly underdeveloped cornea. Doctors at Nagpur has referred her case to LV Prasad Eye Hospital, Hyderabad; her treatment needs to be started ASAP for restoring partial vision. Her family has limited means, only earning member of her family being her father who earns Rs.10,000 per month and it is impossible for him to get the required treatment without support. The course of treatment and the estimate for such treatment shall be received by 19th / 20th Feb 2019. I have set up this fundraiser right away as we might not have much time once the doctors decide on the course of treatment. The collected amount shall be utilized exclusively for treatment, postoperative care and allied costs incurred for such treatment for baby Reemi.
It would be an absolute injustice to this innocent soul if she couldn't see this beautiful world!

Ask for an update
Dear friends,
Thank you for the wonderful support. Just now received an update from Baby Reemi's parents. She is now 4+ kgs, the doctors have investigated her health and found that there is much improvement in her left eye, some possibility of vision development normally.
It seems her left eye is responding to some light. Such vision improvement should continue on its own as she grows. Also in the right eye, the doctors have put in expander/confirmer for expanding the eye socket; over a period of time (maybe in a couple of years) the baby will have a prosthetic eye.
Thus today's investigation reveals that there is some hope of some degree of vision in the left eye. The doctors have advised exercises for the eyes like always keeping the baby exposed to multiple light colours etc. The next investigation is scheduled for June 15th, 2019. Please do keep supporting. Will keep you posted.

9th August 2019
Dear Supporters,
Baby Reemi turned 6 months this 2nd August 2019. She has a consultation due at LV Prasad Eye Hospital, Hyderabad. She has been visiting the hospital every month for follow up consultations.
In the last consultation, we were told that the doctors are preparing the right anopthalmic eye for the prosthetic eye. A small tube-like structure is inserted in her right eye to widen the cavity. Hopefully, after a year or so, the eye cavity can accommodate the prosthetic.
In the left eye, it seems there is some level of improvement. The doctor said that the eye is responding to light and hence there is a possibility for limited vision if the development takes place at the same pace. However, they are refraining from corrective surgery at this point as this may lead to loss of whatever level of vision achieved so far. We will get to know more in the upcoming consultation.

13th March 2019
Dear Supporters,
Thank you for the wonderful support. Here is a quick update. The second consultation at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad was held on 11th March 2019. The doctor said that there is no growth in the second eye also.
As she grows, the eye may develop. So we have to keep seeing the growth pattern periodically. Next appointment scheduled after 1 month i.e. on 15th April 2019. Hopefully, by then, she crosses 4+kgs and the doctor will be able to undertake a detailed investigation under anaesthesia.
Please keep sharing the campaign and keep praying. Will keep you posted.
Thank you once again!
