    This fundraiser will benefit

    child of na

    from Mumbai, Maharashtra

My Name is Samir and I am here to raise funds for Mahesh. Mahesh's father (Rajan) works as a Helper at a community hall in our area and i do connect with him casually. He mentioned about his son's health and the financial trouble he has gone through with the 1st surgery and requested for any possible help for the next surgery.

Mahesh had multiple pre-cancerous familial polyposis of his complete colon (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis syndrome). Doctor Albert Pais on 21st July 2018 has performed a 1st Surgery (total Colectomy with temporary ileostomy) preventing progression to colorectal carcinoma/cancer. After the surgery, Mahesh has a pouch attached to his body through which stools are bypassed as shown in the picture. The pouch needs to be replaced every 2-3 days.

Now Mahesh requires closure of ileostomy (major surgery) for him to lead a normal life and pass stools as normally through rectum. The surgery is planned around 10th to 15th June based on availability of the funds or may have to be postponed. Mahesh's father - Rajan works as a helper in a community hall and his earnings are very meagre to pay for the cost of the 2nd surgery. Tragedy stuck the family when Rajan lost his wife 9 years ago and he then started taking care of his 3 sons. A couple of years ago, tragedy stuck again when Rajan's elder son (Mahesh's brother) drowned in the sea/creek near Malad area(Mumbai). For Rajan, the only family left now are both his sons. 2nd Son is also working as helper in a small hotel and  youngest son Mahesh has been diagnosed with above and operated once. The daily cost of his son's' medicines and pouches is quite high for him to afford and sustain for a longer time. He has already taken loans from multiple people and is emotionally and financially drained. The funds generated by well-wishers will help his son to get the 2nd surgery done on time and also save on the day to day medical expenditures.
