Macqy's medical fund

Hello everyone, I'm starting this campaign on behalf of my best friend, Macquillin Shobhana who has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of colon cancer. For those of you that know her, she is an extraordinary human being - cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and puts her family and friends before herself.
She underwent surgery during the last week of August to remove the cancer. But being an aggressive form, it has spread to other parts of the body. As a result, she will have to undergo 12 rounds of chemotherapy during the course of the next one year. The total cost for this medical treatment is 25 lakh rupees.
I cannot imagine the stress and difficulty that she and her family are going through now, so I wanted to reach out to all my friends and hers' so that we can come together and do the best we can to make this a little easier for them.
Mac has always been the kind of person who stepped up when someone needed help or if something had to get done. Now, it's time for us to send back some of that love and support to her. Any small amount you can donate is truly appreciated. Please spread the word and a big thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity.

Ask for an update
22nd January 2018
Hi everyone -
Happy New Year! I know it’s been a while since I’ve given an update on Mac. She’s been undergoing treatment and her targeted chemo started in Nov and has been continuing on a bi-weekly sometimes weekly basis. She’s been having side effects like nausea, rashes, minimal hair fall and loss of weight but has been getting through it with high endurance. I ask everyone to continue to remember her in your prayers. She recently had a PET scan earlier this week and while the results are showing a positive sign of improvement, she has to still continue with her chemotherapy sessions until March.
I had a chance to visit her in Nov and I am so grateful for it. She was her usual self - funny and silly yet very courageous and calm about her situation. I am so thankful for her huge system of support starting with her mom, Chandra, siblings, in-laws, Pastor and the church family and above all friends - all of you that have been calling and checking on her to make sure she is doing okay. All your support is definitely making this difficult period a lot more manageable. Thank you for reading this post and I will let you know about further updates as it happens.

Hello everyone - wanted to give an update on Mac's treatment. She had a blood test done and her body has responded well to the first cycle of chemotherapy - Praise God! She is scheduled to go in for her 2nd round sometime during the second week of October. Please continue to pray for her.
On the same note, I want to thank all of you who came forward to help financially and spiritually during this time. A lot of you are friends from a long time ago and it was so nice to watch everyone step up and enquire about Mac with such concern and care. There are many that are friends of friends that came forward to help through word of mouth. This campaign personally taught me so many things and made me a better person and that is because of all of you. So, on behalf of Mac and her family I want to shout out a big THANK YOU to each and every one of you. Will keep you posted on more to come.
