Snow White was one of the first few dogs I ever fed in my life. She was hovering near death when I started feeding her.
She lost all of her kids to road accidents and followed me into the jungle when we went to bury her kid. We placed a huge boulder on the grave of a two months old baby whose mummy was losing grip on reality and kept digging her grave.

168 hours later, I lost Snow White to the cruel selfish world too. Nobody could ascertain the cause of her death. The ruler of earth, Snow White, who commands all the stars in the sky, left one under my wing. Celestial and breathtakingly gorgeous. She has beautiful mellow honey eyes and fur as white as the Siberian winter. She is every bit as beautiful as her mother and I call her- LUNA.

It still bewilders me how she made it out alive. Could have been looking for scraps to eat from the refuse. Scattered words of condolences passed back and forth like fireflies in the wind. I looked into her eyes, with the sun glinting in them, sitting forlorn in the middle of a road, I knew I had to take her home with me or I’d lose her too.

 

The storm has petered out and her future isn’t muddled anymore. Luna waited for months at stretch and has finally found a home in Vancouver, Canada. For a girl who was orphaned overnight, earth poured over the cheerful countenances of her siblings, land painted red with the blood of her family members— Luna needs some happy days in her life. She wasn’t made for dusty roads with open ditches waiting to trap her.

She needs to run wild in a field of daisies and watch the sea engulf the sun. She needs to feel sand beneath her paws and be kissed by fresh wind. Luna is as pure as the earth after a spring shower and we owe this beautiful girl, a future as beautiful as her.
