Do support 300+ dogs' medical needs & care by donating to us

This is the end-of-year fund raiser being organised for the animal welfare wing of JanmFoundation.org to seek generous people to donate Rs. 500 / USD 10 (cost of a coffee outing) to help 300+ stray, rescued and abandoned dogs on a daily basis.
Janm Foundation aims at providing sustainable solutions for community issues and has multiple animal care programmes running. We have completed 3-years and are now eligible for and are in the processing of applying for tax exemptions from appropriate government authorities. For a total annual cost of Rs. 32.6 lakhs / USD 45,500, we can care for over 300 dogs needing care and homes on a daily basis.
We receive no government funding and are totally dependent on the generosity of people like you. Please consider donating towards one of our programmes. Approximate costs are listed below. Anyone interested in learning more can get in touch with us at JanmFoundation@gmail.com to schedule a visit. Thank you for all your support.
  1. We have a street dog feeding & medical care programme running in a village area of Dwarka, New Delhi which caters to 50+ dogs daily. This costs us about Rs. 32,000 / USD 450 per month (Rs. 4.2 lakhs / USD 5,800 annual).
  2. We have a street dog & medical care programme in Sector 48, Gurgaon which caters to 100+ dogs daily. This costs us about Rs. 45,000/ USD 625 per month (Rs. 5.4 lakhs annual / USD 7,500).
  3. We have another street dog care and feeding programme running in Sector 67, Gurgaon which caters to 100+ dogs. This also costs us about Rs. 45,000/ USD 625 per month (Rs. 5.4 lakhs annual / USD 7,500).
  4. We have 30 to 40 dogs in our care at any given time who have been abandoned or cannot survive on streets. We provide them care + training and look for homes for them. Maintaining this facility and caring for these dogs costs about Rs. 75,000 / USD 1050 per month (Rs. 9 lakhs / USD 12,500 annual).
  5. We are sponsoring 5 special needs dogs in specialised boarding which costs us Rs. 25,000 / USD 350 per month (Rs. 3 lakhs / USD 4100 annual).
  6. We support other animal NGOs by providing manpower support, fund raising support, direct donations. This is dependent on their needs and our abilities and usually amounts to an additional Rs. 50,000 / USD 700 per month (Rs. 6 lakhs / USD 8,350 annual).

Dear Friends of Dogs Need Help Rescue (a Janm Foundation initiative),

Seasons Greetings!

October 2020 has been a very busy month for us. We organized yet another year of spaying, neutering & vaccination camp for street dogs in the town of Almora, Uttarakhand. Internally, we refer to this as the Pepsi Project as it was in 2008 that we organized the first such camp by taking a team of veterinary experts to the small town of Almora to spay Pepsi, our newly adopted street dog, and her mother and siblings and other friends. Since then, the program has become much more organized and the town's municipality is actively involved in the year-on-year camp. In addition to spaying, neutering and vaccinating street dogs, low cost and effective medical treatment are also provided to the town's pets.

In October 2020, we also received two mother dogs along with their respective pups. One mum came in with 5 pups who were born in a dangerous area below a power transformer. The other mum had her uterus torn while delivering and needed medical aid in order to get through the medical crisis. She had 8 pups who were born to her. Though two of the pups were lost, we now have 6 remaining from that litter as well.

Additionally, we have 3 older pups (about 6 months old now) who also need homes. We also tried to organize a photoshoot during the last week of October 2020. Here are some of the pics from the shelter and also from the Almora camp.
Lots of love from all of us to all of you. And Happy Diwali.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Here is a message from our founder that we wanted to share with you all. Message from Smita:

I am an animal rescuer. Due to a shortage of resources, the focus has been only on dogs. I have had multiple messages from the Universe that makes me believe there is something more than this physical world. Sometimes I would be driving through a particular location, but something in my mind would tell me to take another route. And in that new route which I impulsively took, I would find abandoned pups or blind elderly dogs or someone needing help.

Almost all rescuers will tell you that someone or something else is doing the rescuing, I am just following instructions. Anyhow, almost a month ago I had a very clear dream. In the dream, there is panic in the city and everyone is running around. And then one notices a very large snake - almost 20 feet long and large - devastating the city (something like Godzilla but a snake). And then somehow I come close to the snake and I can see in its eyes and I see fear and pain and anxiety and I realize that moment pure compassion for the snake - in my dream I was full of compassion. And I realise in my dream that the snake just wants to get out of the city so I help it do that.

Since that day till today (about a month), we have rescued 6 snakes - mostly cobras - from a residential colony. This is not my thing, I had no interest (honestly) in snake rescue. But now I marvel at them each time we manage to get one out. Here is the one from today. I really think it was the Universe sending me the message that I need to expand and help all creatures - and specifically snakes right now cause they seem to be disturbed due to construction in our neighborhood.
Peace to all.!!
