Empowered by a request by the Corporation of Chennai, and being given land by them, we at the Rotary Club of Madras, kickstarted a school building project for children who had no access to school as a consequence of the floods. I took the lead in the first year.
I kickstarted a campaign for funding for the school, which was first answered by Anuja San Antonio, a team of doctors I knew in the US ($190,000) . We at the Rotary Club of Madras soon partnered with Tata Trusts to bring in the difference. We still need funding for furniture, a playground, and other facilities. The academic year has begun.
Through this campaign, I will play music live everyday, and enjoin those who follow my work and others they know, to contribute towards completing the funding gap by at least Rs 10 lakhs.
