We are a young team of Social Workers. An Idea in the moment gave rise to this campaign. So after many meetings over tea and coffee (a favourite of Social Workers) it was time to bring our skills and values to practice. With the diverse cultures and traditions we come from, yet we share the same passion and vision for a better India.
We have come together to support a noble cause of providing each school child in Mehrauli and Okhla with a STUDY LIGHT that is bright, safe and Eco Friendly giving them an opportunity to transform their lives for a better and brighter future.
This campaign of ours is called LIGHT UP A CHILD'S FUTURE campaign.
You could help us in achieving this goal. We would distribute these lights among school kids coming from slums in Delhi's Mehrauli and Okhla area.
Here's how to help:
1. Donate an amount as your support to purchase these lights.2. Suggest schools where you think the students deserve these lights.
3.Spread the word. Forward this to your family and friends and people you think will be interested in supporting this campaign.
We intend to play a part in transforming the lives of these kids through educational approach. We wish to use these funds also for the sake of organizing workshops of art and craft, painting, vocational program workshops for these kids where they can indulge in skill training.
These children end up being either rag pickers or indulge in any other form of child labor. We intend to make a change here, give them a platform to basic educational activities...Our cause is genuine and we have the required skill set to make the difference.
We have planned to distribute the Study Lights within next 15 days, and all the other activities mentioned above will be put into action immediately, the other activities.
We want to support the children whom we are targeting as they live in slums and do not have access to electricity. These Study Lights are solar battery operated and are safe to use. They can use these lights after sunset to study and complete their other work.
