Who are we?
Leadership For Equity (LFE) is born from a coming together of committed practitioners who acknowledge the complex, multi-faceted and multi-layered nature of educational inequity in India.

We are a team of 24 members - 60% of us have worked directly with the children in the classrooms and/or with teachers/parents in the communities, for more than 5 years now. Over the last 3 years, we have been working closely with the stakeholders in the Maharashtra government system, right from the Ministry officials to the teachers in the schools. Our approach is firmly rooted in the belief that public systems are by definition, the gatekeepers to equity and that sensitive and effective public systems will ensure that all children learn.

What we do?

LFE's current scope of work is in Pune with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Nashik through Nashik Zilla Parishad and with the Government of Maharashtra, School Education Department.

Where does your contribution to this campaign go?

We have an annual budget of about 2 crore this academic year 2018-19, and LFE wants to ensure that there is enough in our accounts to be able to take on ambitious projects. So with the 30 lakh this campaign intends to generate, the unit economics is as follows:

For every 1000 you contribute, YOU will have indirectly impacted
17 students, with an outreach goal of 3,30,678 students across Pune & Nashik

For every 1500 you contribute, YOU will have supported the development of
2 teachers, with our impact goal of 12,797 teachers across Pune & Nashik

For every 2500 you contribute, YOU will have provided technology access to
31 teachers, out of our outreach goal of giving technology access to 2,50,000 teachers across the State by end of year

For every 5000 you contribute, YOU will have supported the development of
1 school, out of the 3604 schools we indirectly impact through system reform

For every 15,000 you contribute, YOU will have supported the capacity of
1 officer, out of the 534 officers that we directly support at State & Dist. level

Much beyond these numbers, lies our fundamental belief that 'Transforming Systems is ultimately about Transforming the relationships of the people that shape the system' and it takes every one of us, and every one of YOU to be able to make the shift in our system happen.
