Story

Our organisation Labour Issue Watch (LIW) was established in 2015. We have been working to ensure access to justice to the unorganised labour of Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh. We are young working professionals from Bareilly who want to give back to our society and our home towns. We are also working to provide education to young children from the age groups of 6 to 14 years in our Non- formal Education (NFE) centers in Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh. There are few pockets in the district which have extremely low enrolment rate among the primary students. The situation of schools is deplorable.

The students don't have a school building, let alone a blackboard and proper teachers. This why our organisation has opened up non-formal educational centers for these children. These centers are run by the education and the otherwise unemployed youth of the region.

We need your help in providing equitable education to the future of this country. We need funds to buy books, stationary, blackboards and other funds for other logistics. We request you to participate in our 'Shiksha Daan Mahotsav' and help us raise 40,000 rupees.

We are running 5 centers currently. Each of our centers have 35 students each from age groups of 6 years to 14 years. We will utilise the funds in paying for the salary of the youth, buying books and stationary. Your help will support us in proper functioning of these centers so that no child is left behind from the magic of letters and from the overall development process.

We thank you for your support and encouragement in advance,

Umesh Chandra (President LIW), Archana, Om Prakesh, (teachers of NFE centers)
