My name is Prem Singh Dodiya. I am raising this crowd funding for my nine year old daughter kumkum kunwar dodiya who is fighting against thalassemia major which is very dangerous disease.
What Happened to Kumkum?
Kumkum is my nine year old daughter. Elder among her two other brother & sister. she was born very cute. Everybody in our family was very happy till she became 5 months old. After that our nightmare started. She started getting severe fever, her stomach got swelling and her health condition deteriorated each day. We have rushed her to the nearby hospital and the doctors has suggested us to take her to MB Govt. hospital in udaipur. So we have admitted her in hospital. Doctors have suggested lot of medical tests including blood culture tests, x-rays, Ultrasound CT scan, Bone marrow biopsy and monitored her for 3 days. Soon after medical reports came, I had consultation with Hematology Oncologist who has told me that my daughter has got double heterozygous genetic disorder characterized by both a qualitative and quantitative abnormality of hemoglobin also rare immune-deficiency blood disorder called HLH(Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis) which is more dangerous than blood cancer. Her Spleen, lever enlarged than actual size and her platelets came down to very low level. So they have shifted her to ICU for 1 week and after 1 week she got discharged from hospital. We have to visit every twenty days to the hospital for blood transfusion. Doctors have told us that she has to undergo Bone Marrow Transplantation which is the only Curable option. Our entire family members has given HLA test for Stem cell matching but unfortunately none of our family became full match. After some days one of my relative suggested me CMC hospital, Vellore. Last year in august i went to CMC hospital with my family for further HLA test.
After a year passed i got a call from CMC, Vellore that they found a match 10/10 bone marrow donor.The minimal cost of Bone Marrow Transplant in CMC is 35-45 lakhs INR. After hearing this i just felt a sign of hope for my little child but so far we have spent whatever the money we had and all our savings exhausted.
I request all you beautiful souls to contribute generously to save my cute innocent little daughter to fight against this deadly disease.
