We are fundraising to help former Devadasi women start independent businesses

Story

As a woman founded and co-operated business, Kendra Rubinfeld PR (KRPR) is helping to raise money for women entrepreneurs across the globe. We hope you will join us by making a minimum loan of $25 to help our selected recipient, Rekha Bhandari.
About Rekha:
Rekha is one of an estimated 250,000 girls and women in southwestern India still dedicated to their local temple deities as "Devadasis" (meaning "servant of God"). This ancient and outlawed, yet still prevalent, practice originally gave Devadasis a comfortable life and high social standing, but began to be abused by the rich and powerful. Over the years, Devadasis were forced into prostitution to survive.
Rekha is a former Devadasi, proud mother, and small business owner of a small scale, goat rearing operation. She needs a loan of about $345 to expand a secure a future for herself and her child. We hope you will invest in Rekha and help KRPR in our fundraising goals.
Thank you.
