Story

I am a 21 year old student studying at the University of Delhi and I recently have been selected to attend a Student Leader Global Summit
as a representative for the Oceanic region, to be held in Columbus, Ohio (USA) in March.

I am so excited to have been selected for this opportunity as I am passionate about leadership, education, and empowering others to succeed. A small number of students from across the world are selected for this international engagement opportunity.

My passions in the abovementioned areas are reasons as to why I involve myself heavily in various student governance-based, academic-based, and leadership-centric activities in my community. My experiences in these roles, furthermore to my passions, formed the basis of my selection to attend this incredible opportunity.

This opportunity is a rare experience to represent my community, University, and the Oceanic region, and to connect with student leaders from across the world from various cultures, understandings of leadership, and differences in tertiary education.

This Summit aims to develop a broader understanding of global leadership and tertiary education.  Engagement at this summit will allow me to bring back understandings and insights of global leadership back into my community, to enhance and support current or emerging leadership programs.

Furthermore to attendance at the summit, invitations have been extended to the selected delegates to also attend the ACPA Convention which its focus is on supporting students in higher education institutions.

The outcomes of the summit is to:
- Participate in global conversations to develop a global 21st century understanding of leadership in diverse higher education environments and understand the challenges within the sector

- Develop Leadership skills for a global community

- Develop practical skills in being an effective leader

- Engage in activities which value reflective practice, and enhancing social good globally.

- Increase networks of leaders from across the world and to connect to potential future engagement opportunities.

Expenses
I need to raise 50000 to attend the summit to pay for flights (the major cost) and other incidentals incurred as part of attendence at this summit.

However, through this fundraising avenue I would simply like to cover my airfare fees as it is the predominant expense I will need to cover by early February.

With your support in covering flights, you will empower me to explore, engage and evolve my leadership skills to to align with a global community focus through this interactive leadership experience. It will also broaden my understandings surrounding supporting students as part of the ACPA conference . The aforementioned lifelong skills and insights I will be able to feed back into current and emerging programs and leadership-centric activities I engage with in my home community - empowering my peers to develop a global leadership mindset.

Any amount you can spare will have my deepest gratitude. Thank you so much for your time.
