11-year-old Kousar Begam from Koppal district was diagnosed with Wilson's Disease four months ago.  Wilson's disease is a rare inherited disorder that causes too much copper to accumulate in the liver.

Kousar's father, Gudu Sab, is a road contract worker and her mother, Immambi, is a homemaker. Kousar has 4 siblings and her parents are struggling to manage her treatment expenses.
Gudu Sab works in his small piece of land whenever he finds time in the hope that he will get some extra money to help Kousar.

Kousar has been advised to undergo a liver transplant immediately to recover.

Dear supporters,

We all came together to help 11-year-old Kousar Begum undergo a liver transplant. Despite the best efforts of the hospital, Kousar's parents did not consent to the surgery due to personal reasons.

Here is a letter from the consulting doctor:

Around the same time, Satish Kumar, a daily wage worker was raising funds for his 13-year-old son Sushan’s liver transplant. The family had managed to arrange 2.5 lakhs for the surgery. They are unable to arrange the rest of the amount and were seeking support so Sushan could undergo the transplant as planned. Upon the consent of doctor, funds raised through Kousar has been used to help Sushan undergo the liver transplant. The respective matching grant from our impact partner, The Pravin Agarwal Fund, was also transferred towards Sushan's treatment.
