This is about the request of sponsorship via crowd funding to participate in the cycling event ‘London Edinburg London – LEL 2017’.

About me:

I am Yuvaraj Palaniappan from Coimbatore, an ultra Distance Cyclist, a Triathlete and Double time Ironman finisher.

About the event:

London–Edinburgh–London (LEL) is a randonneur bicycle event of approximately 1,400 kilometres over an out-and-back course between the capital cities London (England) and Edinburgh (Scotland). It has been described as a hardest cycling event for a contender in the United Kingdom. The event is being held every four years since 1989. The 8th edition of LEL takes place from 30th July 2017 to 4th August 2017. The route begins from the flatter terrain in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire to a hillier terrain further north in the Pennines and Scotland's Southern Uplands. The route is mostly on quieter roads and lanes. The participants must cover this distance self-supported under extreme weather conditions. Each rider will be given a cutoff time of 116 Hours which includes break for food, sleep and refreshments.

LEL 2013 witnessed the debut participation of Indians and only one managed to complete the event within the cutoff time. I will be one among few Indians who are planning to take part this time. With my current experience I am confident that I will complete the event before the given cutoff time.

Budget for LEL :

My planned dates for the travel are from 27th Jul 2017 to 11th Aug 2017, which gives me a good head start to get adapted to the weather and conditions in United Kingdom. The expected expenses for the event is 196500.00 INR (Attached excel chart in detail)

Other expenses such as Training, bicycle maintenance has to be taken care. I would be grateful if I get a helping hand for this huge event in my cycling dreams. I will be glad to finish the event with the help of you all.
