DID YOU KNOW ONLY 36 % OF WOMEN USE SANITARY PADS IN INDIA ?
I am Kiah Mehta , a class 12 student , currently studying business and economics . I’ve always believed that a privileged person should be contributing back to the society . While there are numerous ways to do so , I have started by volunteering at Hamari Pahchan NGO and by working under their Project SUKHAD - an initiative to make the lives of the underprivileged a little easier during the time of menstruation. It includes providing them with sanitary pads, educating them regarding menstrual hygiene and making all of us understand that 'Periods' and talking about the same is not taboo.
Since the entire world is trying to fight the pandemic , let us not forget the pre existing issues in our society and work towards helping these women in whatever way we can . It is really difficult for them to access basic items especially during lockdown so SUKHAD has launched KITS that include 24 packets of the sanitary pad, 6 packets of soap Disposable paper envelopes and other essentials .
‘’ Menstruation is not a problem, poor menstrual hygiene is ’’
Hamari Pahchan Ngo is going to organize another mass distribution on World Menstrual Hygiene Day i.e. 28th May 2021.
