A worst flood of this century has hit Kerala, the southernmost state of India due to incandescent rain during the last few days. With a causality of over 370 people and 350,000 people been shifted to over 2000 relief camps in various parts of the state, this is one of the deadliest disaster Kerala has ever witnessed in a century. The flood have paralyzed normal life of millions.

Epidemic Diseases Spreading after Flood and Natural Disaster

As per WHO, the floods can potentially increase the transmission of the following communicable diseases:

Water-borne diseases      : Typhoid fever, cholera, leptospirosis and hepatitis A
Vector-borne diseases     : Malaria, dengue,haemorrhagic fever,
  Yellow fever

The epidemic breakout will have very adverse effect if not handled properly by the healthcare facilities and the initial treatment plan should begin before the people goes back from the relief camps.

The funds raised here will be used to distribute relief kits for 300 families (Dry Ration) and provide Medical Assistance including check-up, medicines and related services to all those who are affected by this Kerala Flood.
