With restaurants, meat shops and fresh food vendors shut since the lockdown that started on 25 March, stray animals lost their regular food haunts.
Many strays depend on leftover waste from markets, roadside food stalls and tea shops for sustenance. With such establishments shut until this COVID-19 Panic Gets Over, these animals have no source of food and water. The quickly approaching summer could also potentially dehydrate these animals, leading to illness and death.
