Aplastic Anemia is a deadly disease that Jayashri needs to fight. She is currently on medicines that the doctor has given but urgently scheduled for a BMT and is the only treatment that can cure her. 

Aplastic Anemia is where the body stops producing new blood cells. The disease leaves you feeling very fatigued and prone to more infections. This can occur at any age and the rate of progression varies from person to person. Treatment for Aplastic Anemia is usually frequent blood transfusions and medications. The permanent solution is a bone marrow or a stem cell transplant- as is the case with Jayashri.

Jayashri hails from a very poor family and the hospital initially had to give her Rs 70,000 for initial tests.  The whole family has been beside her since she was diagnosed with the disease, due to which the income has hit a wall.  Her brother was a bonded labor so it helped the family for a while but currently he is out of work.

The treatment should happen as early as possible. The cost for BMT has been subsidised to 12 lakhs (7-8lakhs extra in normal cases) and a 100% match for a donor has been found.
