Jassi is an indie dog from Vikhroli, Mumbai-India
Jassi is a 3 year old sweet, docile and friendly (neutered) dog. Unfortunately her fault, she was born on the streets of Mumbai to fend for herself. Jassi became pregnant at the early age of 7 months, she gave birth to still born puppies. All this took a toll on her health. Thereafter, she was sterilised but her health did not improve.
On 20th April, 2019, Jassi was found in a very critical condition with a huge and deep maggot wound. Her condition was very pathetic, she had become weak, Bonny and was found suffering from neurological disorder. Where Jassi lived, people were kind to her but were not aware of calling a vet or giving her the right treatment. The festered wound was treated with turmeric powder that too occasionally which made it more worse and big.
Presently, Jassi is undergoing treatment at Vet Dave and only he will be able to tell how much damage maggot wound has caused her internally.
The summer heat and the wound has made her weak, she is also having a neurological disorder, due to which she goes in circles.
A volunteer was informed by a local man and she called NGO-"Animal Rescue and Care". An ambulance was immediately arranged to take Jassi to vet Dave’s Clinic. After her maggot wound cleaning, first aid dressing and saline drips, she was sent to a foster home. Blood tests were eventually done to know the cause of neurological disorder, the blood tests result proved nothing serious but she will have to undergo treatment for long.
Twice a day she will be given saline drips to improve her condition and clean her maggot wound. Jassi will undergo treatment till she is completely alright.
A volunteer helped us with some bills. But Jassi needs prayers and more help in her treatment. Kindly help whatever you can. Even small amounts are a major help for Jassi to survive.
Currently Jassi is in a foster home which charges daily Rs.350/-, Jassi will have to be kept for nearly two months, for maggot wound healing and neurological treatment.
