Can sound and music cure pain? What if we told yes, it can, and has been used since the ancient times to cure pain and heal physical and psychological imbalances. But as we evolved into a material based society, this ancient art form lay forgotten. But recent medical studies show that sound is indeed one of the most powerful pain and stress management modalities.

What science says -

Berkeley Wellness
"The use of music to address physical, psychological, cognitive and/or social problems — now plays an accepted role in modern medicine, for children as well as adults. "

Harvard Medical Center - "Music can relieve stress. It can improve mood, even in people with depression. And it can lower heart rates, breathing rates, and oxygen demands in patients who have recently suffered a heart attack."

American Psychology Association - "Music has long been recognized as an effective form of therapy to provide an outlet for emotions. Music very much has a way of enhancing quality of life and can, in addition, promote recovery."

Our recent breakthrough with Music as medicine for Cancer patients undergoing Chemotherapy -

In the last four years, we have collaborated with many NGOs and health care institutes and have worked for cancer patients, underprivileged and autistic children, hearing impaired and many other people with various mental and physical conditions.

Our latest case study is about a boy of 14 who was suffering from Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cells. Due to a cancer cell blast, he was facing extreme headaches and could not sleep for days.
At this point we took him through a Sound Therapy Session.

During the session Rajesh, who could not even sit up for a single minute due to extreme headache, sat still for over 7 minutes before gently lying down and falling asleep. We continued with the session for around 40 minutes.

The next morning, the Center staff was surprised to see him up and playing with the other kids.

Such is the power of sound.

Hertz and Minds Sound and Music for Wellness Research Center

HMSMWRC will be a research institute dedicated to the research and development of sound and music as medicine. Our primary objective is to understand sound as therapy from a deeper level and empower people to fight pain, stress and suffering by making music a way of life.

Hertz and Minds will also provide artists and musicians to collaborate and use their art for the greater good of humanity.

How can you help?

You can contribute however small or big.  Rs. 100 or Rs. 10,000, it is the spirit that counts.  It may not be easy to see the possible impact of your contribution at present;  but your Rs. 100 could pave the way for billions of dollars when this "alternative" therapy is established and picked up by the mainstream development machinery i.e. government and other agencies in the rest of the world so that this research center doesn't remain "alternative".

Fund Utilization -

The funds collected for this project will be used to create and sustain the centre which include -
Paperwork / Lease / Rent of Space / Infrastructure  / Specially designed acoustic rooms for sound therapy / Equipment / Maintenance / Activities

A personal Note -

We are living in strange times. With technology suddenly penetrating deep into the core of our lives, we have created challenges for ourselves which are questioning our entire existence.

The need of the hour is to discover and create new and innovative solutions. Hertz and Mind is an attempt to find an alternative solution to bring about peace not just in the outside world but also deep within ourselves.

Please contribute from your heart and share this with your friends so that together we can create this platform where like minded people can meet and work for a better world.
