    Jiban Sarkar

    from Kolkata, West Bengal

Very rarely you meet someone who literally lives up to his name. Meet Jiban. He has made news by saving the lives (Jiban) of two young girls who were crossing the railway tracks around 5 p.m. on 13 December,2018, Thursday. Several bystanders screamed at them to move from the tracks as a train made its way into the station. The girls could not hear owing to their headphones. Jiban Sarkar, who was probably in the station to catch a train, sprang to action, running towards them and pushing them off the tracks.

Unfortunately, before he could move away to safety, he was himself hit by a train. An ambulance arrived after much delay. He was taken to SSKM, Kolkata where he did not receive proper care for a long time. Only after Jyotipriya Mallick, Minister for Food & Supplies intervened, did he get operated upon outer part (white matter)of brain, which came out from right forehead, inserted through surgery.

With the ICU in SSKM being filler with critical patients, Jiban’s family and friends had no other option but to move him to Apollo Hospital. Jiban still needs to be surgeries in the head eyes and legs. He owns a small fast food center and has no financial means to pay for this. His siblings are by his side but they are all from financially humble backgrounds.

Does this man WHO DID NOT WASTE A MOMENT THINKING, BEFORE HE JUMPED INTO ACTION TO SAVE TWO LIVES, deserve a chance at life? If you think the answer is ‘Yes,’ then we have to do what we can to make sure he receives the best treatment. This gentleman is one of the finest specimen of humanity. Please donate to save his life!
