Baby Hemanth was born on Ramanju and Hemvathi’s wedding anniversary. It was a celebration twice over for the couple. Hemanth’s brother, Satwik (3), was overjoyed to have someone to play with. Ever since then, Hemanth has been the light of their lives. There has never been a dull moment with him around. Unfortunately, he started falling sick in November. He showed no other symptoms besides fever, so Ramanju never guessed that he’s living with a fatal disease. Hemanth has an immunodeficiency disorder that makes too many activated immune cells. This makes it difficult for his body to protect him from any infections that threaten him.
Ramanju and Hemavathi experienced the unbearable loss of their first baby in 2014. It took them years to try and overcome the heartbreaking loss. Their older son Sathvik was born soon after their baby's death, and they finally felt happy again. Hemanth's birth only added to their joy. However, shortly after, this fatal disease threatens to take away another precious child from them.
“We lost our first baby within 6 months of her birth. It might have been the same disease, but it was too late by the time she was treated. My wife was shattered beyond words when our baby died. We couldn’t save her, but we’re going to do all it takes to save Hemanth. We can’t lose him.”
