Help Young Chaitra for small bowel transplant surgery
There is a certain joy in doing your best bit to help someone else, sharing this beautiful planet with you.
The lady in this picture is Chaitra. She had an early marriage, that is, immediately post her 12th grade. Her husband, Nagesh, encouraged her to continue her studies and everything was blissful. A year post their marriage, Chaitra was pressurized for a progeny and yes, she did conceive after numerous medical interventions.
Happiness, however did not last long for Chaitra. One unfortunate night, in her 7th month of pregnancy, she had an unbearable pain in her stomach and had to rush to the hospital. It was on that day, it was discovered that Chaitra had a gangrene on her umbilical cord which was now, wrapping her dead child. Doctors suggested she would not survive this. With some advanced medical aid, however, the dead child was successfully removed with her consent.
Ever since that day, however, Chaitra has not lived a normal life. She has pretty much become a living dead. Today, Chaitra survives only on liquid food. She dreams of looking as beautiful as she did a year back. For another surgery, the doctors have asked for another lakh rupees. If she were to survive till she gets operated again, she needs to take an injection of Total Parental Nutrition every day. This injection, however, costs Rs. 4000.
Nagesh, her husband is from a humble farming background and this expense is a way too heavy burden for him. He already is under a burden of a loan of amount 11 lakhs. Chaitra hopes and wishes to be able to go back to her studies again, complete them and be a successful lawyer someday. Nagesh and Chaitra are battling it out every day and every bit of it.
How I wish, prayers and blessings worked and solved everything for everyone. Unfortunately, they don’t. It is my humble request and a plead to you all, to contribute whatever best you all can in this genuine endeavor. If not for you, please help us by cascading this to whoever is interested and would want to contribute.
