Vayalur, Sithandi, Mallinatham, Keerapakkam and Semalipuram are small villages near Kalpakkam and Chengalpet, about 100 kms from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The people in these villages belong to the Irula community and live in huts without any power.
The male members in the family do not have any permanent jobs and work as daily labourers cutting wood, or catching shrimps / worms to provide as feed to prawn cultivation plus similar odd jobs. The women folk help their husbands and take care of their families.
In these villages, there are about 100 children studying in government schools. While there is no tuition fee, the children need support for their education.
These 100 students need the following:
1. 5 notebooks per student
2. School bag
3. Pencils, pencil box
4. Water bottles
We are requesting your help to raise funds to provide these items to the children. Please help us to help the students.
