Zomato Delivery Guy Feeds Underprivileged Kids And Teaches Them Too

Have you ever wondered what happens to the order you cancel on Zomato or Swiggy?
Well, restaurants give away the food to the delivery guy. While many opt to eat it or sell again earning extra profit, a few others like Pathikrit Saha decide to do something more.

Fondly known as ‘Roll Kaku’ (uncle) among a group of street children, this Zomato executive Pathikrit Saha delivers canceled food orders to underprivileged kids in and around Kolkata, putting a smile on their faces.

While this is commendable on its own, Pathikrit’s good deeds don’t stop here.

Pathikrit said, “I found numerous other homeless kids around the same railway station having a dark past and an even darker future ahead of them. None of them had ever stepped inside a school. The older ones were into drug abuse, begging and even petty criminal activities, while the younger ones would just play and laze around all day, soon to grow up and join their predecessors", reports Efforts For Good.
"I wanted to look for a long term solution to make these children happy and independent," he says.
He started Helpp Foundation and officially registered it as an NGO, to help these kids.
From that day, along with a few friends, he started teaching basic subjects to these underprivileged children, and has been teaching ever since, for the past 4 years.

Saha who used to work with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, quit his job to dedicate all his energy to the benefit of underprivileged kids.
The number of kids who joined his classes started steadily rising.
Over time, Saha had to look for another job to sustain his family and he applied to be a delivery executive with Zomato. Little did he know that this job would help him more with his noble initiative of supporting street kids.

Knowing that evening classes is only a beginning, Pathikrit started working towards enrolling the children in a government school. He started spreading awareness about them and requested donations for stationery, books, bags, uniforms and so on.

Besides arranging food, he also provides books, stationery, clothes to the needy and teaches them.

"Until now we have admitted 19 students in primary schools. And have 39 registered students who attend our classes every day," he says.

What he needs funds for,
To take his initiative further, Pathikrit needs your help to build a classroom for these children.
He can be seen teaching kids under a tree, on a railway platform, or under a metro bridge, anywhere he finds a spot for these kids.
"My dream is to build a classroom for these kids, and regularly feed them and other underprivileged kids around Kolkata, 3 times a day."

“These days the kids come to study even if I am unable to feed them. This shows that they want to study, they want a better life for themselves and their family. And I have the opportunity to help them realise their dreams. The sooner I can construct the classroom, the more the children I can educate. I need your support to help these underprivileged children live a life like you and I have”

Let’s help Pathikrit in his fight for leading the change and making a difference in society.

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. ...
"Let's all work together"

The truth of this statement is proving to be true ... Not everyone can reach the people of the Sundarbans, but with the love sent by them, everyday we see the beautiful smile on the faces of above 300 people, which is priceless to us.

.Shri Rabindranath Tagore quoted "Whatever comes to us, that belongs to us, if we create the capacity to recieve it" and our team thrives to build the bridge connecting your love to all the people in need.

We extend our gratitude and thank heartily lto all our well wishers, supporters and contributors. Without all your support we recieved, we could never start our journey.

Team of HELPP Foundation started their journey from Kolkata with a dream to reach as many as heads of kultuli block,Sundarban.
"Pramaya Education Centre" with 50+ Poor kids was built. The family of those poor kids of our school were severely effected in this super cyclone Amphan.
So we had a target to reach those families including other villagers of that Area to provide with minimum basic requirements as some financial help to buy necessary items to rebuilt their broken houses and distribute tarpaulins, and arrange meal for them including some dry food too.
