Mamta is battling blood cancer and she needs your support
Hello everyone, my name is Mamta Goswami, and I am a 26-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh. I come from a low income family that earns a livelihood by running a small tea stall in our home town in Uttar Pradesh. In October of 2016, I was struck by a tragic illness that changed my life as I knew it. I had been diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) - Blood Cancer.
The small village that I come from didn’t have the proper treatment and expertise for my condition, which is why my family made the decision to shift me to AIIMS Delhi. Since October 2016, I have been receiving treatment and medical support there, but the financial burden it has put on my family is tremendous. Not only have they had to dig deep into their savings, but they’ve also had to borrow money to bare my medical expenses so far. The medicines alone have costed an approximate INR 4,90,000. Nearly 8 months later, at this stage, my family is completely depleted of all funds. Unfortunately the treatment isn’t complete. We are now trying to raise funds to ensure that my Leukemia treatment continues at the hospital.
