Help 8 year old Kamlesh in his second fight against cancer

Kamalesh Naskar is an 8 year old child who fought with cancer twice, once at age 4 and again at age 7.

After his 2nd chemotherapy, Kamlesh is going through post treatment recuperation phase and needs support. His father, Sh. Madan Naskar is a daily wage labourer with income ~1500 INR (~23 USD) per month. It is difficult for them to arrange for the money needed for medicines, food etc. Hence the campaign.

About the disease
In 2012 Kamlesh was diagnosed with Acute Lymbhoblastic Leukemia, a kind of blood cancer. He went for medical treatment in Kolkata Medical College Hospital (a Government hospital). By the end of 2014, he was declared to be out of the disease

As doctors advised, the family shifted to their village in the vicinity of Sundarbans to give him better surroundings to recover. Unfortunately, due to storm their thatched hut was destroyed and family had to have a polythene roof for cover. Though there is no consequential evidence, this seems to have triggered the disease again. The family had to come back to the hospital in Kolkata some months ago where the chemotherapy has been done again, for free by Kolkata Medical Hospital.

Thankfully, the treatment went well and Kamlesh was discharged on 28th of Oct 2016. Now he has do it again, fight for post treatment recovery. The cost of this would come to around INR 20,000 (USD 300) per month.

Please help the family with one year of resources to help Kamlesh in his fight against cancer.

Dear all,

Kamalesh is no more. The child put up a brave fight against a deadly disease like cancer, not once but thrice. But his little body could only stand this much.

He breathed his last on 18th of August 2017, last week, at Kolkata Medical College. It took his father one week to inform us as someone stole his mobile phone at the hospital.

You all helped a lot, in more than one ways. Ranjeeta Deedi, who helped us get PediaSure from his organisation for free; Debabrata, who helped the family in local logistics at Kolkata; Ankit, Vipin Sir and thier friends who helped with Doctor's contacts at the hospital as well as outside; Ashish and other friends who made generous contributions; and Milaap team who were ready to support the cause 24X7 . Though it could not suffice to save Kamalesh, however it enabled his family to support the treatment.

A big thanks to all of you, on behalf of his family members.

May the little soul find peace and purpose. May the family be able to stand the loss.

Kamalesh is currently doing fine. There has been no relapse of the disease. Chemotherapy is continuing on a less frequent basis. His health has improved and he has gained weight by six Kgs. He has got back his enthusiasm and goes to play.
Madan Naskar has withdrawn a part of Rs 60,000 that was released to his bank account. This has been spent mostly to buy food, nutritional supplements (PediaSure), medicines associated with chemotherapy and travel. As per doctor's advice Kamalesh needs to eat high protein diet regularly. Kamalsh has now Mangur fish and mutton keema everyday on his plate.
Their dwelling hut was destroyed in a storm during the last monsoon. This needs to be rebuilt. The family is planning to spend Rs. 20,000/- towards this from the amount available to them.
