About me

I am Krutika Jain. I am 23 years old and a resident of Mumbai, India. I work for a company named OYO which is South-East Asia's largest hospitality chain. I am a traveller at heart and a humanitarian by choice. My voluntary work at NGO's like Teach for India and Greenpeace has helped me understand and become sensitive towards causes such as education and environment.I have helped underprivileged children in a Government school and supported some environment campaigns, seminars, beach cleanups etc. I understand how important my contribution is towards various issues and how I can bring about change.

Why this expedition?

I have grown up in India's most populated city- Mumbai. I have seen the city change every year with respect to man-made developments and climate. We all have experienced the negative effects of climate change in some or the other way. The rising temperature in the city, cutting of trees for metros and increasing number of vehicles on the road, disturb each one of us. I have decided to take action against climate change by going on this expedition to the Arctic because in this expedition we will gain knowledge about today's issues of climate change , renewable energy, sustainability and how it affects our present and future worldwide. 

I need your support to fund this expedition that aims to inform, engage and inspire the next generation of leaders to take responsibility and create sustainable communities.

I look at this opportunity as a means to not only understand about climate change but also take appropriate steps in order to protect and save our environment.

What I will do on returning from the expedition?

-Inform and engage with people from corporates, schools, different institutions.

-Raise awareness about climate change and give people first hand knowledge about how they can make changes in their day to day lifestyle by implementing simple solutions.

-Conduct seminars on leadership and training and utilise my skills in helping others become a better leader.

Why support me?

It is inevitable that we are now experiencing the full-blown impacts of climate change. My professional and personal efforts till now seem very small in the larger scheme of things. When I came across the Expedition, I saw an opportunity to learn more about climate change, take a stronger stance on this cause and come back to make a change that I wish to see. In fact, we all need to make collective efforts in this direction.

Investing in me goes beyond just me as an individual, It is an investment in a cause that requires our immediate attention and support.
