Why am I fund-raising?This campaign is for supporting a blind family situated in Vadavannur near Malayampallam, a rural village in Palakkadu District, Kerala. The breadwinner of the family Mr. Devan(Devadas) and his wife Ms. Pankajam are blind. His aged mother, their two little children, his sister Panchami and kids are the other members of the family. Devan manages to meet the basic minimum needs of the family by selling lottery tickets. Even though Pankajam is blind, she is skilled and trained in candle, agarbatti and soap making. But, lack of support system and financial assistance are the barriers to use her skills as a source of income. With the support of government fund, the family started constructing a house and now it is half way due to financial constraints. Since the house is not in a habitable condition, they stay in a small temporary shed where anyone will find impossible to live.
