    This fundraiser will benefit

    Mallika Mondal

    from Bangalore, Karnataka

26 year old Mallika Mondal is Bilas's wife and was diagnosed with acute Rhinitis (hay fever) with sinusitis and haemoptysis (blood in lungs). She has been coughing up blood for the past 4 months now! Although a manageable reaction, Mallika's case was worsened as her 8 week pregnancy was aborted due her medical condition.

Mallika has been coughing up blood for the past four and a half months. Her test reports show traces of fresh blood in her lungs and esophagus, and her hemoglobin levels have  gone down drastically, rendering her weak. After initial treatment at St Johns Hospital, Bangalore; she was referred to Manipal hospital, Bangalore; where further more tests were carried out to diagnose the real ailment. Meanwhile her condition worsened and she battled it out in the ICU for 3 days!

While Mallika has been discharged with prescriptions of nasal sprays and oral medications, and she is recovering little by little, both Bilas and Mallika are trying to recover from their bigger loss of life that was just 8 weeks old.

Bilas is a migrant worker from a remote village in Sunderbans, West bengal; and works as an office boy in a MNC, and is contracted through another company which provides labor. Managing to barely meet ends with the monthly salary, while sticking to the decent way to make a living, the treatment of his wife has set him back by close to 3 lakh rupees. Whilst Bilas handled most of the expenses, he still has a balance of Rs 119185 to be paid, and with all the loans he has taken to settle the rest of the amount, he does not have the money to pay off the remaining amount. Add to this, the pending list of medical tests, prescribed by the doctors at Manipal Hospital.

Please help Bilas pay off the remaining amount to Manipal Hospital, so he can take care of the running costs of getting back Mallika back on her feet again.
