Help Baby Akshara Fight Chronic Liver Cirrhosis

Baby Akshara is the only doting daughter of a purchase clerk( Mr. Shivram Mangaonkar) working in a private organization in Goa. Father of Akshara hails from a lower middle Class background and is the only earning member of the family. Akshara has been diagnosed with Chronic Liver Cirrhosis and has been recommended Liver transplant at the earliest.
She is advised to undergo evaluation & listing for liver transplant by the Institute of Liver Diseases, HPB Surgery & Transplantation; Global Hospital; Mumbai.
The estimated cost for the evaluation & transplant; including post-operative care is in the range of INR 23-25 lakhs.
The family is under extreme economical constraint; & hence unable to foot this bill. Whilst Shivram's colleagues, family and friends are assisting in arranging the funds. Shivram is still short of 1500000/- ( Fifteen Lakh INR) to carryout the surgey.
Time is running out hence we approach Milaaap to raise the necessary funds.

Dear Supporters,

Thank you all for your wonderful support and love.

Akshara is undergoing homeopathy medication and she is showing good signs of improvement. The hospital that she was being treated in had recommended that she undergo the transplant, but since she is responding well to the homeopathy medication, they will not be going ahead with the transplant.

Today Shivram has approached me and has indicated that Akshara is doing well and the family has agreed to not proceed with the transplant. Hence it is his wish that the fund generated for Akshara can be utilised for any other needy child.

After discussing with the family and their agreement (letter attached), funds raised for Akshara would be utilized to help 2 baby girls
  1. 6.5 year old Kanishka suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Here is the campaign link for the same - https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-kanishka
  2. 8 year old Ankita fighting Acute Promylocytic Leukemia. Here is the campaign link for Ankita - https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-ankita

Since the intended purpose, i.e, the transplant did not happen, no funds have been withdrawn.

As per our Refund Policy under Terms & Conditions (https://milaap.org/about-us/terms-and-conditions), donors have the discretion on how their funds should be used which is as follows:

1. Funds raised for Akshara to be redirected to Baby Kanishka ( https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-kanishka) and Baby Ankita (https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-ankita)

2. You can opt for a refund for the contribution made and we will be happy to help you with the same.

Please reply to this email before the 12th of March, 2019 stating your preference for 1 or 2. After which the funds will automatically be mapped towards above mentioned campaigns

Our prayers and wishes are with Akshara and her family. You may get in touch with them if you require any further information.

We want to thank you all for your support and generosity.

Kind Regards
Deep

Dear Fundraiser,

As advised by Akshara's father, Shivram there is some visible improvement in Akshara's condition. Doctors have advised him to wait till May 2018, before they decide for the operation. There is a small possibility that she may not have to go for the transplant. Should the doctors confirm the same in May 2018, we will keep you posted on how we will proceed with the funds raised.

We sincerely appreciate the support from you all and pray that Akshara gets well soon. Keep her in your prayers!

Dear Supporters,

As advised by Shivram, Baby Akshara's reports have shown some improvement and the doctor monitoring her, has advised to wait for some more time as he is closely monitoring the progress. As advised in the earlier update, the donor tests have been carried out and Akshara's paternal aunt is identified as the suitable donor.
We will keep updating the progress.

Thank you so much for your love and support.
