It is with deep sadness that we wish to inform you of the demise of Ramakoti Reddy Thugu, who passed away on Tue eve, May 23rd.   He met with an accident suffering major head injury.  Ramakoti underwent a brain surgery but there has been no response post-surgery and after fighting for almost 48 hours, he succumbed. He was a part of the Cerner Lab team.

We will all miss a good colleague and friend, a great human being and a fun loving person. Our deepest condolences to his family for their loss and May the Almighty give them strength and guidance during this hour.

Ramakoti comes from a very humble farming family and was the only financially stable family member supporting them.  He grew up in a small hamlet, with just 50-60 homes.  Most of the folks there do farming for sustenance.  The nearest school is about 20 km away, a great distance by Indian standards, and that’s where he got his primary & secondary education in his native language, Telugu.  Later he moved to city to pursue his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and also learned English.  He was the most educated person in his village and was an inspiration to the younger kids.   He went out of his way to help his fellow villagers in any way he could such as providing them accommodation when they visited Bangalore, arranging for their meals, etc.

Ramakoti’s sudden demise is a great shock to his family not just emotionally but also financially.  Any financial support we can provide to them at this juncture would be of great help.  We are raising funds to send to his family. 

We are also planning to arrange funds from the company’s Employee Welfare Trust, which provides emergency financial assistance to employees.  This fund is created by monthly contribution from each employee and is managed by a Trust.  We are working with Ramakoti’s family for getting the necessary documentation such as police report, post-mortem report, etc. to complete the required formalities.  This may take a few weeks.     

We would request you to contribute financially in whatever capacity you can.  This is strictly voluntary.  The funds will be sent directly to RAMAKOTI’ S Mother’s bank account.
