This is regarding the update to your contribution towards Badrinadh’s campaign. Unfortunately, Badrinadh passed away at Apollo Hospital on 5 July 2015.
As mentioned previously, Rs 3 lakhs was utilized by the hospital for Badri’s medical expenses and Rs. 2 lakhs was given to the family to complete his last rites and settle few medical bills. From the remaining funds, the family needs Rs.6,63,000 to settle both the hospital and family accommodation as well as other medical bills. The family has spent all their savings towards helping Badri and went further to borrow from relatives and friends to support his treatment so far. They are however still struggling to make ends meet. Rs. 3,37,000 will be transferred to the family to settle their debts incurred from the treatment for close to one year.
Despite having financial difficulties, Badri’s parents have generously come forward to help another child suffering from leukaemia. 3 year old Rahul is diagnosed with ‘Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML)’ and is undergoing treatment at Apollo Speciality Hospital under Dr.Revathi Raj, who was also Badri’s doctor. Badri's family would like to transfer the remaining amount raised to Rahul.
Rahul’s father, a farmer from West Bengal is working in a hotel in Coimbatore and is struggling to support his son’s treatment. This kind gesture from Badri’s parents will bring great relief to Rahul’s family.

Thank you for your support in Badri's treatment. Unfortunately, we received news from Apollo Hospital that Badrinadh passed away on Sunday, 5 July 2015. He had been in critical condition for few days. Badri’s doctor from Apollo Speciality Hospital, Chennai said that due to an increased WBC count in his blood and since Badri had recently undergone chemotherapy sessions, the doctors could not start another session to control the blasts in his blood, as it would cause severe side effects. Unfortunately, Badri sooon developed breathing problems and other complications.
Few weeks ago, Rs. 5 lakhs was transferred to the hospital for Badri's treatment, out of which, around Rs 3 lakhs was utilized by the hospital for his medical expenses. Rs. 1 lakh was given to the family to complete Badri's last rites and the remaining Rs. 1 lakh will be transferred to the family to settle various medical bills. Once we are able to talk with Badri's parents, we will provide you the structure on how the rest of the funds raised would be utilized.
Even in this period of grief, Badri's parents convey their heartfelt gratitude to all the contributors who supported them. Your support and prayers kept them going till now.
We pray for Badri's soul and may the family have the strength to bear this grief.
I write this message with great pain and at the same time with guilt, but due to my family's dire need of financial help, I am unable to stop myself from requesting your generous help.
My Son, Badrinadh, who is just 6 years old, was diagnosed with blood cancer (T-ALL) in July-2014, and he was admitted in the hospital for BFM-95 protocol treatment. We have spent around 12 lakhs Indian Rupees for the initial treatment .
But unfortunately the Cancer has relapsed after 9 months of treatment; we would require another 30 to 40 lakhs to treat early relapse T-ALL and Bone Marrow transplant. This includes cost of induction Chemotherapy(Pre-BMT) ,Bone Marrow Transplant charges and Post-BMT charges.
He is admitted at Chennai Apollo hospital (Teynampet), where his Bone Marrow Transplant surgery is to happen in the third week of June.
HLA test: 90% matched with his mother’s cells, who would be his donor.
His condition is getting worse day by day, and I am at a loss of words to describe his sufferings; and the physical and mental torture he undergoes during his treatment and Chemotherapy.
We can't bear this huge amount at the moment, as I have ended up spending my entire savings for the initial treatment. We have tried all possible ways to arrange the money required for his treatment, but the amount is way beyond our reach. We are in a state of despair, as time is running out for my Son,unless Samaritans like you offer your kind and generous support.
For my Son's cause, I am looking for your help to raise funds to save his innocent and precious life. With folded hands I once again request you to do whatever little bit you can, to stop him being snatched away from us in this cruel manner.
