Help Reetu Fight Blood Cancer

"Hi Everyone,

I am Reetu. I am 40 years old and the mother of two adorable children, aged three and six years.

Thankfully, this is not for either of them. It's for me. I’m fighting an aggressive and dreaded form of blood cancer (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). I was treated during Oct 2016- Feb 2017 and the disease was under remission for more than a year. We were elated beyond measure.

Unfortunately, and as is the case with diseases like these, my cancer resurfaced in July 2018.

The choice of treatment by doctors at Tata Memorial Hospital (Mumbai) and Ruby Hall Clinic (Pune) is Chemotherapy, followed by a Bone Marrow Transplant at the earliest. This requires 2-3 months of hospitalization and a cost of around Rs 30 lakhs.

My previous treatment has drained my entire family of funds. And now, with this new life-threatening development My family and I are faced with a big challenge of raising a huge amount of funds in such a short span of next 5-6 weeks, for the treatment.

I am looking for help by way of donation/funds to support my treatment. Your support (as small or large) would mean the world to me and more importantly, to my two kids. It will give me another chance to repay the society by continuing my community work which I’ve been doing over the past decade.

With Sincere Gratitude
Reetu Sharda"

The above appeal and this campaign is organized on behalf of my daughter-in-law Reetu who is presently hospitalized for the above treatment.
Kind Regards,
Aruna Patil

Dear Supporters,

With a heavy heart, I regret to inform you that Reetu is no more.

She was being treated in the hospital with chemotherapy after which she suddenly developed breathing issues. Due to the breathing issues, her body started to produce potassium which spread to her heart, lungs and kidney resulting which she was put on ventilator. Though she fought for her life the next 48 hours, her BP dropped fatally low which she couldn't survive.

She was being treated in the hospital with chemotherapy after which she
suddenly developed breathing issues which led her to be put on ventilator. The BP was being maintained on heavy drug dosage due to reduced cardiac efficiency.
The Kidneys were also affected resulting in accumulation of fluids in the body, which necessitated her to be placed on dialysis. The complications, one after another, led to the fall in BP.
Though she fought for her life the next 48 hours, her BP dropped fatally low which she couldn't survive.

In this sad moment, I, on behalf of Reetu and our family, convey our sincere gratitude to you for your deepest concern for a genuine cause, for your noble prayers & blessings, and generous financial contribution and support. It has touched our hearts and established an emotional connect.
Your noble gesture has given us strength and the feeling of being part of a larger family totally committed to the wellbeing of everyone.
The overwhelming support rendered by you is highly appreciated.
In this global village, I am certain we will endeavor to meet you in person, someday, to convey our deepest feelings of gratitude in person.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Milaap.org for providing this tremendous platform which has technical excellence, is user friendly, and is efficient in reaching out to an audience larger than we would have imagined.

Please pray for her soul to rest in peace. The utilization of the remaining funds left will be decided later and we will post an update regarding the same. Thank you all for the immense love and support!

Dear Supporters,

I am grateful for the love and support showered on Reetu.

She recently completed her 1st cycle of chemotherapy and is presently under observation. She had side effects such as vomiting, loose motions, giddiness and difficulty in eating and talking due to swollen gums. However, these are normal as per the doctor. After the observation, she will begin with her 2nd cycle of chemotherapy with a higher dose.

On behalf of Reetu and my entire family, I convey our sincere gratitude to each one of you who have been generous and kind to extend your support.
It has given us a world of confidence and positivity to overcome this challenge.
God Bless and God Speed! Please share and support the campaign.
