We "Earthians" are not the one who thinks NGO's funding as a source of income.
India has more than million NGOs, working in variety of fields from disaster relief to advocacy to human/animal rights to improvements towards environment, rejuvenating forest, lakes, rivers etc.They are a major part of civil society which bring rapid change and social transformation by their contribution and are independent of the government control and voluntary in nature.
They depend on individual donations, foreign funding and aid from different government agencies and if enough people don’t donate/support for NGO's / social cause and if we keep waiting for government to do everything for us then social change cannot be brought.
NGO's work has helped India get rid of prejudices, corruption, illiteracy, poverty and pollution to a good extent.
Similarly, we Earthians Environment Awareness Services Organization in brief "Earthians" are a non-profit, independent NGO and we need to keep "Earthians" and its activities thriving for years to come and continue doing the work we promised ourselves to do.
While we wish to stop "Global warming" right today and we also wish to achieve a society where everyone is "Environment friendly" and "cautious enough" from today itself such that everyone ensure leaving least carbon footprint behind their individual daily activities but somehow these wishes cannot be fulfilled in a day because the extent of damage which we (human) have done to environment through our various heat producing activities cannot be countered/reversed soon enough but with sustained effort over a period of time, it is certainly possible. On the similar line, we Earthians aim to work on some precisely targeted environmental improvement programs like Raising awareness in society towards - caring for environment, saving papers, waters etc (please read about our activities here: https://wakeupearthians.org/index.php/what-we-do ).
Every day, we Earthians are happy to see numerous book donators and book requestors visiting our website ( https://donate-books.org ) for donating their various used books and these encourages us to continue our work with accelerated pace. But, we don’t have a lot of time for running behind people to asking for fund neither we’re sales people. We’re environmentalist and social-preneur and we believe in the power of social unity where people join hands together to transform and bring massive change in society beyond ones region, religion and to work for humanity and environment.
So, far without any external funding / donation we have managed to survive "Earthians" and execute it's planned activities for around 5 years and now while we wish to continue to do so, we also want to serve even more people.
We should propagate the book sharing / donation culture more and more to not just within India but our neighboring countries as well. Humanism, goodness and sharing best practices are beyond borders but first we want to serve further and reach within India's different corners. While, in parallel we are planning for servicing to neighboring countries too (subject to prioritization and favorable environment of neighboring regions).
At-last, it’s a little awkward to ask about this, but the reality is that we need your help as we have started feeling the monetary pressure and as of now it is becoming harder for us to operate and execute Earthians planned activities by self funding.
We are proud of our status as a non-profit body and we will continue to do so as we believe we deserve and we certainly will get your blessings, support and co-operation.
We cannot compromise on our values, and I’ll be honest - We don't sell user's data neither do we ask any charges from users for using our book donation platform ( https://www.donatebooks.org ) and the book request is also completely free and while doing so we really feel proud to have continued as an ethical NGO over years. Neither we run ads on our website (https://www.donatebooks.org) nor we sell books in used books market nor do we rely on funding or seek donations from any govt. agencies or companies by showing fake progress reports etc.
We need to maintain the website server and programming for our websites, the real estate rent / infrastructure costs for our library and expenses for environmental awareness activities.
So far, we have financed and sustained all these activities by self funding but this year, will you take one minute to keep our work going?
Finally, a sincere request to please take one minute and donate whatever you could to protect and sustain "Earthians" environmental activities.
Please help us end the fundraiser such that we get back to our environmental work asap.
