"My son will not survive if we don't get him this liver transplant in 2 weeks." - Sagar
Sagar, a police constable, is going through what is probably the worst period in his life. 3 years ago, his wife, Pramila, was diagnosed with a dangerous condition called Lupus. He had to spend lakhs in order to keep her symptoms under control.  Now, his 4-month-old baby’s liver is fully damaged and he needs an urgent liver transplant in 2 weeks. Sagar is yet to pay back the loans taken for his wife’s treatment and cannot arrange the huge amount of money in such a short period of time.

After a miscarriage, this mother had taken every precaution necessary to have a healthy baby

Sagar and Pramila got married 3 years ago. Within months, Pramila found out that she was pregnant with their first baby. But as fate would have it, she had a miscarriage after just 56 days. Her skin had started flaring up with red patches and her arms and legs began hurting unusually, she decided to go to the doctor. She was diagnosed with Lupus and needed intensive treatment for 2 years. After they were cleared, the family took every precaution, opted for every screening and conceived baby Veerabhadra.

“He was born healthy. A while later, his eyes and body began yellowing – his jaundice just got worse every day. Medicines did not improve his condition. Finally, the doctors said that his liver is fully damaged and that he needs a liver transplant to survive. I had done everything in my capacity to make sure that my baby was healthy. I was already suffering with my share of health issues, now I have to watch my child suffer too,”-Pramila

‘I have to rock him to sleep or he would cry uncontrollably – this gives me excruciating pain but at least it soothes him’

Ever since his liver disease was found to be irreversible and advanced, Baby Veerabhadra has been suffering. He cannot sleep for more than an hour at a stretch. He cries non-stop and demands to be held by his mother all the time. She has to either rock him or walk around the house holding him, in order to soothe him. This gives her extreme discomfort and pain, but this mother is willing to do everything it takes for her child to feel better.

“He does not even feed because of this. He drinks milk, but vomits all within minutes. His tummy is getting more bloated with each passing day. I fear for his life more than worrying about my own discomfort,”-Pramila

This police constable desperately needs your help to save his son

A police constable in Hyderabad Police, Sagar earns a decent in-hand salary of Rs 24,000 but given the circumstances, it is not enough for anything. He has an outstanding debt of Rs 4 lakhs – the money that he borrowed for funding his wife’s treatment.

When his child fell sick for the first time, he was forced to borrow a lumpsum of Rs 2 lakhs. But now everything is exhausted. He does not have money to run day-to-day errands and buy groceries. His friends and family are helping out in every possible way they can, but they will not be able to arrange Rs. 25 lakhs.

THE ABOVE CASE IS SUPPORTED UNDER AFFORDABLE LIVER TRANSPLANT INITIATIVE:
