Our dear friend, Upendra Kumar Maurya, B.Tech. (Agri) 2000-04, ID - 27334 (College of Technology, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar), has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (A form of Blood Cancer). He is working as Asst Prof. at DoMS, IIT-Madras, after completing his Ph.D. from XIMB. 

He is admitted at Apollo, Chennai for Chemotherapy. The cost incurred so far has been met by with ₹ 3 Lakhs insurance and a special allocation of ₹ 5 Lakhs, both assisted by IIT-Madras.

₹ 50 Lakh is further required for his treatment that includes Bone Marrow Transplantation, post transplantation treatment and care, out of which ₹ 30 Lakhs is being raised by IIT-Madras fraternity. Thus, we need to assist him with balance ₹ 20 Lakhs. So far around ₹ 10 Lakhs have been collected by close friends, batchmates and Pantnagar & XIMB college alumni.

Now we still need another ₹ 10 Lakhs for Upendra's medical and related expenses, as mentioned above.
