Uday was born the same day the massive earthquake hit Nepal in 2015. With the earthquake, came an earthquake inside him too- he was born with a hole in his heart. With this condition, he can neither play freely with other kids, get overly excited, happy or sad as it might disrupt the flow of blood through his heart. His father is a taxi driver and the sole bread earner of his family. To add misery to their underprivileged background, Uday's mother left him when he was just a year old. Since then, he has been raised by his father.
He's three today. He has to start school soon. They haven't been able to undergo his heart surgery due to lack of money. Fortunately, an NGO is helping him get free treatment at AMRI Hospital, Kolkata in December, but he still needs help to cover his travel and living expenses in Kolkata, where he might have to stay for more than 15 days, depending on how soon his turn for the surgery is.
Please help with all you can. Every little counts.
