Greetings!

I am Tanmay Trivedi, a student from the Indian city of Mumbai.  Since you are able to see this document, I presume you have some idea as to why I am writing to you. I have been selected to represent India at the 22nd Session of the Youth Assembly of the United Nations, in New York City, United States in the month of August, 2018.

I come from humble origins, brought up in the Indian city of Raipur, where my father is an employee of the state government. My mother is a home-maker and my only sister is currently employed in a bank.
 Coming from a middle class Background, it is really difficult for me to bear all the expenses of the trip on my own account as I do not wish to burden my family with all the expenses and therefore I am writing to you.
Now arises the question as to why you should help me. As to what I have done or what I have accomplished that makes me able enough to request this small favour from your end. I am trying to summarize below the highlights of my career for the past five years:

1. Youngest Delegate to represent India at the Commonwealth Youth Summit, 2017- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (19 Years of age)
2. Selected as a delegate representing India, at the Global Partnerships Summit, 2018- New Delhi, India.
3. Youngest Delegate to represent India at the 12th Global Youth Peace Fest, 2017- Chandigarh, India. (19 years of age)
4. Member of a panel of eminent speakers for the “12th Global Youth Peace Fest, 2017.”
5. Winner: International Senior Category Gold Award, The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society, London and Cambridge University, 2015.
6. Winner: International Senior Category Silver Award, The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, Hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society, London and Cambridge University, 2015.
7. Conferred with “Distinction” in English in the International Assessment for Indian Schools, 2015 conducted by the University of New South Wales, Australia. The grade was awarded to the top 11% of participants from around the world.
8. Presented a Research Paper at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (GJ), at the 5th International Conference on Advanced Data Analytics, Business Analytics and Intelligence (5th ICADABAI), April 2017.
9. Winner of the Best Research Paper Award and Honorable Mention for the Research paper titled “Determining Sportsperson’s Affinity for Brand Sponsorships- An Analytical Approach” (Authors : Mr. Tanmay Trivedi, Mr. Anindo Bhattacharjee, Mr. Amit Kumar, Mrs. Rimi Moitra)
10. Conferred with the “Young Achiever in Sports” award by the Art of Living Foundation and Padma Vibhushan Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Empower, April 2017.
11. Felicitated by the Honorable Dean, ASMSOC, for Presenting a Research Paper at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (February, 2018).
12. Successfully Completed a “Certificate Program in International Sports Management” conducted by the Ohio University, USA and UPGCM, Mumbai.
13. Selected for the “IYC – Japan Asia Youth Exchange Program-2018”, a fully sponsored exchange program under which all the selected delegates would be sent on a two week long exchange program to Tokyo, Japan.
14. Delivered an Elevator Pitch on the topic of “Global Citizenship”, at the Indian School of Business, Mohali (2017).
15. Member – International Youth Committee.
16. Member – World Youth Alliance.
17. Associate Member – Ascendens Asia International Young Researchers Club.
18. School Topper – International English Olympiad 2015.
19. School Topper – International English Olympiad, 2016.
20. School Topper and the Regional Qualifier – National Finance Olympiad, 2016.
21. Represented Chhattisgarh at the 14th Open National Swimming Championships, 2014, Bhopal (MP).
22. Represented Chhattisgarh at the 60th National School Games, in the sport of Swimming, 2015, Rajkot (GJ).
23. 15 State Level Titles in Swimming (2013-14).
24. 13 State Level Titles in Swimming (2014-15).
25. State Level Triathlete.

Dear Friend, if I am given the opportunity to represent India at the Youth Assembly, I would try and make sure that I make my country proud and work towards a better world that is more sustainable.

But it would not be possible without your support.

This is where I need your help. The expenses for the entire thing including To and Fro flights, Accommodation in New York city for the duration of the assembly, Visa and processing charges, and other expenses can be covered by a sum which when, rounded off comes down to Rs. 2,00,000/-.
