His kidneys have stopped functioning
8-year-old Supriyo was rushed to the hospital in a very critical condition. His body was pale and he had no energy to even move his finger. After examination, it was found that his kidneys were not functioning and he was put on immediate dialysis. Soon, Supriyo was diagnosed with a very rare condition - Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS).It is a condition that can occur when the small blood vessels in your kidneys become damaged and inflamed. This damage can cause clots to form in the vessels. The clots clog the filtering system in the kidneys and lead to kidney failure, which could be life-threatening. Supriyo is nearing a dangerous stage and he needs immediate treatment to survive.
One filter around his neck costs more than what I earn
“All the money that I had has been spent on the treatment so far. My child’s life depends on this treatment but I have no resources left to continue it. He has a filter around his neck that helps purify his blood, but it costs more than what I earn in a month, and it needs to be changed every 3 days. He needs blood tranfusions every other day and I am unable to bear that too. How will I save my son like this? It seems impossible.” - Soumen, father

He needs urgent treatment to survive
