AN INFANT’S BATTLE FOR LIFE
I was celebrating my Diwali with my grandparents. Our house was full with lights and we were all sharing sweets and joy with our loved ones. But then the joy subsided when our neighbour Supriya came to us crying for her child’s life asking for monetary help to save her child who was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma Liver.  There was sudden silence in the house hearing the unfortunate situation of a child who is just 14 months old.
It all started when Supriya’s son began crying continuously in severe pain, and she could not understand the reason why her child was crying. Supriya rushed to the nearest doctor and later approached a gastroenterologist at children’s Hospital. The scans revealed a bloated stomach a mass in the child’s abdomen. The local doctor referred the situation to a specialist doctor in Hyderabad the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology.

Supriya and her husband could afford only two cycles of chemotherapy by mortgaging their house and with the help of loans from relatives and friends. Now the family is not in a position to afford emergency surgery of Liver transplantation, it would cost them approximately Rs. 20 Lakhs and the other costs would be around Rs. 2 Lakhs.
“Doctors said my child needs an immediate surgery to cure his illness and it would cost us around Rs 20 Lakhs. We are praying to all the Gods to save my child. We have sold all the jewellery, our only one house and have spent all the money that we have on chemotherapy. The only thing I can do now is to pray, plead you people for money and not lose hope.” said Supriya.
The specifics of this case have been verified by the medical team at the concerned hospital. For any clarification on the treatment or associated costs, contact the campaign organizer or the medical team.
