Koregaon Park, Pune is famous for it's cafes, clubs and nightlife. But if you happen to be there - especially around lane C on any weekday, you'll find a completely different story -100s of kids running around - Classrooms full of energy and a colorful array of smiles.
You've found a government school in the middle of one of the most expensive areas in Pune. A school where kids come from more than 10 communities, communities that are united by festivals, culture and problems, communities that are torn by violence, poverty and illiteracy. But once in school, the kids make their own different worlds, they talk about math and they talk about Messi.
Students make presentations and they organize events.
We are Teach for India volunteers, and we teach across grade 6-10.
