I have worked for an NGO which enabled me to work with students of a low income private school. I met many bright children who battle with simple problems that can be solved. They embattle the perception that poor deserve inferior solutions. One such student is M Sampath who is 15 years old studying in grade 10. He has been suffering from a serious eye problem for last 4 years. The cornea of his eyes keeps rupturing which makes his vision blurred. People around him believe that his inferior vision is more than enough to manage his life. If this continues he will lose his eye sight. He too will be forced to believe that he deserved it. He needs to undergo an eye surgery for correction of the cornea. He will be able to see, more than that he will be able to read, and prove to the world that there are people who care. The surgery costs him Rs. 30,000. I am trying to do my bit in collect funds for the same. The world would be a happier place if we know there is someone who cares for us, let him know that there are people who care for him. Please pass on the message to your friends and families.
