The last 12 days have been the most harrowing for both Nur Nabi and Rasula. The parents feared that they will lose their 2-year-old baby boy, Sahil. The little one is on the brink of death - his kidneys, his lungs were giving up on him. He needs to stay in the ICU, that’s the only way Sahil can get better but his father’s pockets are empty. There is no way he can save his son if there is no help.

He got thirsty in minutes, that couldn’t have been normal

3 months back. Rasula noticed that Sahil was getting very thirsty. Initially, she thought it was normal, but soon she figured out that things were getting out of hand.
 

“He was urinating a lot and was asking for water every 5 minutes. I knew something was wrong. My husband and I took him to so many doctors in our village. No one could cure him, his condition was getting worse with every passing day,” - Rusula, mother.

The scared parents took Sahil to Bikaner but even the doctors there gave up. They asked them to immediately go to Jaipur.

His kidneys are getting affected, now his lungs too are failing

Sahil had diabetes insipidus - a disorder that causes an imbalance of fluids in the body. This imbalance makes you very thirsty even if you've had something to drink. It also leads you to produce large amounts of urine. As a result of his condition, his kidneys are also getting affected. To add to his problems, little Sahil is now suffering from pneumonia. He can’t breathe without oxygen support. For the last 12 days, the baby hasn’t had a peaceful night’s sleep.
 

“He opens his eyes for just a few seconds and then he closes them again. I want to tell him that I am always there for him, that I will never leave him alone. But he isn’t even listening!” - Rusula.

This daily wager has already spent over 2 lakhs, that is still not enough

Nur is a daily wager in a small village in Rajasthan. His income is negligible - on some days, he earns nothing. But he is the only one in his family who earns, he is the only one taking care of them.
 

“I don’t have any savings, people like us don’t have savings. I had to sell my only piece of land to start my son’s treatment, but now they are telling me that another 5 lakhs is needed. Where will I get that from?” - Nur Nabi.
