I am Vasu, a laboratory technician in a Medical College. My brother, Rose, a 24 year-old aspiring Visual Communications student, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour called Chordoma. This is a benign tumour, but due to its size and location close to crucial parts of the brain, it is causing symptoms like headache, giddiness and visual disturbances. He has been advised by his doctor to undergo surgery at Apollo Hospital, Vanagaram, Chennai at the earliest.
The estimated cost of the surgery is 8 lakhs. As my father passed away in 2007, I feel it is my duty to take care of my mom and brother. Being a lab technician, I rely on part-time jobs to meet our daily expenses. Since this amount is more than I can afford, I request you all to help me raise funds to meet the cost of surgery. The doctors say that once the tumour is removed, Rose can get back to classes and lead a normal life. He will only need periodic check-up, once in a few years.
I am attaching below, a copy of the letter from Apollo Hospital.
