Please read this article and if you feel you can help, do not hesitate whatever small it is. A 60-year-old grandmother is literally urging your help at the final stage of her life.
Myself Amarnath Repalle, from Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh. I completed my graduation in Science and searching for a job. I’m here to request all your help for my grandmother’s cancer treatment (Recurrent Leukoplakia Vulva - Vulvar Cancer) as I’m still searching for a job and not earning so for.
About My Grandmother RamaSubbamma:
All of us know very well that, Grandmothers are very valuable and special people in our life from whom we have learned many things and still following their principles. Even though mothers are feeding us, in fact, grandmothers are our real mothers; WE ALL grew up in our Grandmothers guidance only. I still remember those days when I walk behind her by holding her saree. I grew up seeing my grandmother as a mentor to my mother. That’s why I love my grandmother very much. She took utter care when I was a child and my mother doesn’t know anything. Now, it’s my turn to save my grandmother from this deadly cancer!
My grandmother RamaSubbamma is from VPR Kandriga village, Kodur near Tirupathi. She has a son and a daughter. Her son is a daily labourer with less earnings.
My grandmother RamaSubbamma, is suffering from Vulvar Cancer (Carcinoma Vulva), a type of cancer that occurs on the outer surface area of female genitals. This disease is very horrible and any woman should not get it. She needs an extensive treatment and medication to recover from this disease. Luckily, she is at stage 2 which can be curable. But, treatment is expensive (Approximately Six Lakh Rupees)! She's been diagnosed with Vulvar Cancer, which can be easily cured if identified in early stages.
Since last one and half year, she is suffering from this cancer, but she didn’t understand and recognize this as a cancer. Since then, she visited many hospitals and Ayurveda clinics, but she didn’t get proper treatment. She didn’t care for her health issues and her cancer got advanced! Day-by-day, the cancer cells are growing fast on the outer parts of her genitals. She can’t explain what’s happening to her. If this continuous, her urinal parts will be closed and she can’t urinate then. And this may lead to severe consequences of kidney/liver failure and some other major side effects.
Life has become difficult for RamaSubbamma. She's a domestic agriculture labourer and has no great source of income except a couple of cattle. By selling its milk she is running her livelihood. Her husband is also suffering from many health problems and can’t move because of his old age. Her children also not yet settled financially.
RamaSubbamma starts her cancer treatment this week at Srinivasa Super Speciality hospital, Tirupathi and her oncologist (Dr. Surya Sen) has recommended 30 sessions of Radiation Therapy with boosting and 7 Chemotherapy doses, along with weekly blood test and CT and imaging scans. RamaSubbamma needs to travel from her village to the hospital every day, which is about 50 km away from her village and stay there for treatment. These many difficulties are there for her to overcome this disease. She showed her inability, and not in a position to afford the treatment. That’s why we are raising funds here.
Reason for raising funds:
- RamaSubbamma is a destitute woman and can’t afford this treatment.
- She is not getting any benefits or pension from government because of Aadhaar verification failure (Her fingers prints got destroyed as she was doing rough agriculture works). Government health schemes also not applicable because of this verification failure.
- She has no other source of income or except a couple of cattle.
- Her Radiation Therapy Treatment
- Chemotherapy Treatment
- Weekly blood tests, scans and imaging reports
- Her travel and stay expenses at hospital for the treatment (Approx. 2 months)
Thank you one and all for bearing me.
