A Dancer and an Artist: Now under Life Support

The last time I spoke to Raj, he was full of life, talking about dancing. Now, he is in a critical condition. Last Saturday (27th Jan) our dear friend Raj suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness at home. He has been admitted at MIOT in the CCU and has been on life support since then. Though his condition is critical, we are hopeful. The daily medical expense totals to over a lakh a day excluding medicines. A little contribution from everyone could mean a lot for his family. They don't know at this time what the total cost of treatment will be or how long Raj will be out of work, but we felt we needed to start something to help alleviate any financial stress so they can focus on treatment and recovery. The money donated will be used to pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help with daily expenses. Please keep Raj and Ramya, the young couple, in your thoughts and prayers. We are extremely grateful to any contribution. Your thoughts, prayers and generous donations are sincerely appreciated.

Ask for an update
5th June 2018
Dear Supporters,

Thank you for the wonderful support that you have shown towards Raj. I have some news to share with you all today. He has been shifted back to his house. There's a dedicated nurse who takes care of him around the clock.

A physiotherapist visits him every day and spends 30 minutes to one hour with him. As of now, he is opening his eyes, reacting to pain and most importantly he is able to stand on his legs with support from a person next to him. However, he still hasn't gained complete conscience.

Though he's opening his eyes, he's not able to recognise any of us. There are very minute changes in him, but, the road to recovery still looks a long way!!! We are praying for him every day. We are thankful to all the donors for their support and for everyone who has Raj in their prayers.

We request you all to continue having him in your prayers for his speedy recovery. Thank you for the wonderful support. Will keep you posted.

Thank you!

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for your tremendous love and support. This couldn't have been possible without you.

It gives me immense pleasure in informing you all that Raj was discharged one and a half months ago. He is able to open his eyes, though there isn't any much improvement since the last time. He undergoes a phsiotherapy session every day for about 15-20 minutes and we also have a round-the-clock nurse to attend to him.

The neurosurgeon visits him once in every 10 days. We are also considering going for an ayurvedic treatment to help him. The doctor says that we should wait and give him time to get better.

We are all hopeful about his recovery. Please keep praying for him.

Thank you!

Dear Supporters,

Here is an update on Raj's health

He is discharged from MIOT hospital. The doctors said that he can be treated at home, under his family's care. But since his current home won't be big enough to accommodate wheel chair and a few basic equipment like the oxygen setup, we have admitted him at VHS hospital, Taramani. He's still the same - opening his eyes at times (more promptly now), reacts to pain, coughs vigorously and more importantly, he's breathing on his own through tracheostomy. Though he's better than what he was 20 days ago, he still has miles to go before he gets well. He's come this far because of all the positive vibes he's been getting from every nook and corner.

Thank you for your love and support.
Regards.
