About Me
I've always believed all life is valuable. Human beings innately crave for happiness, care, attention and compassion, living a life full of joy and grandeur. So do the voiceless beings. They deserve all that we do. There shouldn't be a difference.
Since my childhood I always had a special place in my heart for animals, especially dogs.
I had a small little German Spits of my own named Snoopy. He lived a full life and was also blessed with a long one. He was almost 17 when we put him to sleep in Aug 2016.
When he died, so did a little part of me. I was grieving and couldn't stand to be in my own house. Every single corner of my house would remind me of him. I dealt with my grief by feeding street dogs and buying Koti's(warm Jackets) for them during the winter. I would often buy treats and bones and go play with them. It somehow made me feel a little better, temporarily, of course, but I didn't know what else to do. It was such a helpless feeling and grief takes it's own time.

One day my mom told me to go visit my Grandmom in Jammu which happens to be our hometown. "Go spend some time with Nani", she said. I flew to Jammu with a void in my heart. Then one day while I was speaking to my mom over the phone, we were talking about Snoopy and I broke down. I couldn't stop missing him. "Why is their life-span so short? It's not fair", I said to my mom. She smiled and said,"that's life beta and you can do so much with yours. Would you like to help animals as a volunteer during your free time?", she asked.

To fill in that deep void within, I started volunteering with S.A.V.E. - an animal NGO founded by Ms. Devinder Kaur in the city of Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir.

Why Seek Your Help?
We are a very small organization that consists of a small team of volunteers.
So far all of us at S.A.V.E. - the NGO I'm representing, have been contributing largely from our own pockets. Due to budget constraints we aren't able to do as much as we want to do for animals who have no one to care and provide for them. Many of them suffer abuse, torture and silently suffer in pain. We operate with limited resources and supplies and face constraints due to lack of funding. We have volunteers who help out as much as possible as we cannot afford to hire full time employees.

How You Can Help?
We managed to raise a little over a lakh in 2018 with your help. With the money raised we were able to pay pending veterinary bills, stock up on medicines, buy some equipment and manage travel expenses for rescue and relief activities. Since we are a very small organization in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, we once again need to raise money as we were unable to provide as much attention as we did before Covid hit us.
Due to lockdowns, rescue and relief activities were restricted, as a result of which poor street animals have suffered, some have even died in vain.
We try to do as much as we can with limited resources and hope to grow as an organization but that can only happen with the help of regular donations and volunteers hence, we are reactivating this campaign to raise funds and also hope that some of you will come forward to volunteer. Any kind of help will be much appreciated.
If you can’t donate money, help us with supplies or anything else that might be useful. If you can’t help us with either at least help us spread the word.
