Hello dear well-wishers..
It's been more than 50 days since my husband "V.R.Praveen Raj" had been admitted to Dr.Kamakshi Memorial hospital, Chennai and he has been on ECMO (artificial lung) support for the past 30 days. But still his lungs didn't respond to the treatment and haven't got cured. Also the doctors had already outlined that Lung transplant would be the last resort if his condition doesn't improve and unfortunately it seems that we headed that way.
We are planning to shift him to MGM hospitals and register for the Lung transplant. It might take a month or even 2 months to find a suitable donor. Till then he has to be on ECMO support. By God's grace his condition might improve and get cured in that waiting period too. Requesting all to keep praying for that to happen.
But, God forbid, if he reaches a stage where the only option left would be a transplant, we are estimating the expenses to come around 1.5 Crores. This includes the ECMO support for 30 days or more (1.5 - 2L per day) and the transplantation procedure charges. Please do support and pray for my husband.
AMOUNT SPENT TILL DATE - Around 60 Lacs
Estimated Cost:
ECMO Charges per day - 1.5 to 2 Lacs
For 60 days (at least) - 1 Crore 20 Lacs
Lung Transplant - 35 Lacs
Total Cost (Approx) - 1 Crore 55 Lacs

Hi Friends,
My dear friend and colleague Praveen has been tested positive with Covid-19 few weeks back, and is in on ventilator support, battling for his life. Doctors have moved him to ECMO to supplement his lungs for pumping enough oxygen into blood.
